Technical Overview

How Our Conversion Works

A detailed look at our automated pipeline for converting crypto token whitepapers into MiCA-compliant iXBRL format.

What is MiCA?

The Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) is the European Union's comprehensive framework for regulating crypto-assets. It establishes uniform rules for crypto-asset issuers and service providers across all EU member states.

Under MiCA, issuers of certain crypto-assets must publish a whitepaper containing specific disclosures about the token, the issuer, and associated risks. For regulatory filings, this whitepaper must be submitted in Inline XBRL (iXBRL) format, tagged according to the official ESMA taxonomy.

Our platform automates this conversion process, transforming your existing PDF whitepaper into a compliant iXBRL document.

The Conversion Pipeline

Step 1
PDF Extraction

Our system uses advanced PDF parsing libraries (PyMuPDF and pdfplumber) to extract text, tables, and structured content from your whitepaper document.

Technical detail: Text extraction preserves formatting, while tables are converted to structured data for accurate taxonomy mapping.

Step 2
AI Classification

Claude AI analyzes the extracted content and maps each section to the appropriate MiCA taxonomy elements. The AI understands regulatory requirements and identifies required disclosures.

Technical detail: Using prompt engineering optimized for financial regulatory documents and ESMA taxonomy structure.

Step 3
iXBRL Generation

The classified data is transformed into valid iXBRL format using xBRL-Forge. All required ESMA taxonomy references and namespaces are automatically included.

Technical detail: Generates XHTML documents with inline XBRL tags conforming to ESMA MiCA Taxonomy 2025 specifications.

Step 4
Validation

Every generated document is validated using Arelle, the industry-standard XBRL processor. This ensures your output meets all technical requirements for regulatory submission.

Technical detail: Validates against ESMA filing rules, taxonomy constraints, and XBRL 2.1 specification requirements.
